Overview

Position requires collection and destruction of sensitive government documents. Job requires individual to be self-sufficient in meeting daily job requirements. 

Responsibilities

  • Collect and destroy government documents using an industrial shredder
  • Perform typical maintenance tasks to support the document destruction machinery and surrounding facility
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations
  • Work hours are from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday of each week

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • High School or Tech School Education
  • Required Knowledge/Experience:
    • 3 years of related experience in a maintenance environment
    • Must be able record work data in an organized and prescribed manner for production of a monthly report
    • Basic machine repair and maintenance
  • Preferred Knowledge/Experience: 
    • Familiar with common hand tools and power tools
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Some heavy lifting and considerable moving of equipment required
    • Able to lift objects up to 75 lbs

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of the department/contract.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Sr Operations Coordinator
