Overview

Primary duties involve on-site management and coordination of all phases of construction projects including, scheduling activities, trade contractor coordination, interfacing with customer representatives, and ensuring that project plans, specifications, quality and safety requirements are being strictly followed.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and trades to ensure project proceeds as scheduled
  • Perform quality control duties to insure all work is progressing as required per project design and specifications
  • Coordinate with customer representatives to facilitate reviews, tours and inspections as requested
  • Identify any non-compliances with respect to quality, safety, health, and environmental quality standards and work to address them in an expeditious fashion
  • Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.
  • Maintain daily log (written) of activities on the jobsite and complete customer requested daily reports
  • Perform Superintendent duties at multiple job sites, simultaneously as needed
  • Log all non-conformances and work with subcontractors to correct them in a timely manner.
  • Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate the work
  • Participate in weekly progress meeting
  • Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner
  • Coordinate all field work and ensure it is installed per plans and specifications
  • Work with and assist project team to avoid and resolve conflicts

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Minimum of 8 years of verifiable construction site management and supervision experience
    • OSHA 30 trained
  • Required Knowledge/Experience:
    • OSHA 30 certified
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to read and understand contract drawings and specifications
    • Experienced with the supervision and management of all building and civil construction trades and practices
    • Self-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision
    • Ability to work with and manage difficult or complex issues related to building construction and sequencing
    • Possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
    • Familiar with federal construction projects is preferred
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to negotiate construction sites with varying accessibility and rough terrain to conduct site visits and assessments

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of the department/contract
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Construction Services
