Overview

On-site management and coordination of all phases of construction and construction related projects including scheduling activities, trade contractor coordination, interfacing with customer representatives, and ensuring that project plans, specifications, quality and safety requirements are being strictly followed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist project manager to ensure assigned projects maintain budget and schedule
  • Prepare contracts and change orders for subcontractors
  • Maintain project logs
  • Prepare and track deliverables and submittals
  • Maintain project document control system
  • Draft and track project related Request for Information submissions
  • Manage project close-out procedures and activities
  • Establish and maintain site safety and quality programs
  • Assist the PM and Operations Manager with pre-construction services to ensure client’s needs are met as project development takes place
  • Assemble and track of complex billings
  • Manage project related risk to insure they do not adversely impact project or Moss Cape
  • Assist with preparing estimates and proposals
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules utilizing MS Project or similar software packages

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction related field
    • 3-5 years of construction and estimating experience
  • Required Knowledge/Experience:
    • Ability to read and interpret complex construction bid documents
    • 3-5 years of diverse experience in construction with project and office engineering experience
    • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with clients, architects and subcontractors
    • Self-motivated and efficient time management skills
    • Ability to undertake tight deadlines and schedule
    • Experience utilizing existing estimating software to develop comprehensive estimates
    • Possess a thorough knowledge of CSI divisions
    • Experience in construction projects throughout the country
    • Ability to develop detailed scopes for subcontractor buyout
    • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations
    • Possesses strong mathematical and computer skills
    • Proficient with MS Office products
  • Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
    • Higher levels of education desireable
    • Familiar with federal construction projects is preferred
    • Experience utilizing project management software such as Constructware or e-Builder a plus
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to negotiate construction sites with varying accessibility and rough terrain to conduct site visits and assessments

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of the department/contract
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Construction Services
