Develop corporate communication strategies and materials that support organizational internal and external communications, public relations, and social media activities, ensuring that communications solutions meet “to be” business processes while also establishing and reinforcing the program’s overall mission.


  • Advise client in the development of comprehensive brand & marketing communications strategies that support the program’s overall strategic direction
  • Advise clients on internal DoS OBO as well as external (DoS Embassy/Consulate staff both local and FSO, FSI, Main State, Regional Bureaus, etc.) communication promotions
  • Works with Corporate Communications team to develop promotional materials required for various internal/external communication strategies
  • Supports the Organization Transformation Advisor with the creation and execution of brand and marketing initiatives for both traditional & non-traditional marketing communications campaigns across integrated communications channels both in CONOUS and OCONUS
  • IOS Program Brand Management - Assists with maintaining a consistent “look & feel”, tailored as needed, for all internal and external messaging and creative executions
  • Ability to craft talking points and sound bites for delivery to Senior Executives on short notice
  • Experience with graphic production and color print process is an asset
  • Project management skills gained from experience managing multiple projects is a plus
  • Exhibit strong management through positive, collaborative client relations and effective communication consultation
  • Lead the creative development of communications strategies and materials that meet business objective, in alignment with “to be” business processes
  • Develop effective communications programs and materials using a variety of media including print, digital, video, visual and presentations 
  • Serve as public relations/internal communications consultant for the program’s mission to the government
  • Support and advance program strategy with employees and key stakeholders through the development and execution of effective communications strategies  
  • Develop compelling and engaging content for program social media sites


  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s with 5+ years overall consulting experience
  • Required Knowledge/Experience:
    • Professional experience in strategic communications, public relations, graphic design, and social media.
    • Professional experience in public relations.
    • Experience in project/account management.
    • Strong writing, visual communications and organizational skills, demonstrated creative aptitude.
    • Strong verbal and written communication, human relations, management and leadership skills.
    • Aptitude and experience in conceiving and developing visual communications, including being able to deliver presentations for key audiences.
    • Experience with MS Office tools
  • Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
    • Experience working with Department of State customers
    • Knowledge of John Kotter’s Leading Change Model
    • Graphic design experience
    • UI/UX experience
