Serve as an Information Assurance Support Officer (IASO), specializing in information assurance under the Chief, Operations, Plans and Policies within United States Army Legal Services Agency (USALSA), Information Technology Division (ITD). Participate as a team member in the performance of Security Services related to information systems, networks, applications, software and data protection through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, and enhancement of information assurance programs, policies, procedures, and tools.


  • Ensure the continued Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Services (eMASS) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) certification and accreditation of JAG Corps information systems in accordance with the Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process
  • Assist in analyzing program costs, document creation, and the entering of data in the Automated Portfolio Management System (APMS) and Asset Vulnerability Tracking Resource (AVTR) in conjunction with contracting representative
  • Monitor and maintains the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) compliance for all OTJAG systems
  • Proactively prepare, process, track, and update the field on all Certificates of Net worthiness for JAG Corps software packages that are currently on the network or need certification for implementation to include requests from the field and software updates
  • Ensure all network and information system users meet the requirements for system access
  • Prepare, distribute, and maintain plans, instructions, and SOPs concerning system security
  • Review and evaluate the effects on security of system changes, including interfaces with other information systems and document all changes
  • Serve as the subject matter expert of the handling and processing of, sensitive but unclassified, FOUO, classified information, and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
  • Resolve IA issues, researche products, and determine network suitability for all procurements


  • Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Required Knowledge/Experience:
    • A minimum of 3 years of experience in IA is required
    • Demonstrated knowledge of IA / INFOSEC concepts and requirements
    • Experience developing standard operating procedures and system security plans
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Knowledge and skill in applying the Federal information systems security protocols, policies and programs
    • Experience with the Department of Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process, Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Services (eMASS) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) generation
  • Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
    • Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or Software Engineering is preferred
    • Professional Certifications and demonstrated experience any of the following:CompTIA Security+
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
    • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
    • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
    • Certified Internal Controls Auditor (CICA)
    • Systems Security (INFOSEC) technical experience
    • System/network vulnerability analysis
    • Risk assessment and risk mitigation analysis
